Marcum VS350
Got a budget? Don't be fooled by affordable excellence!

Now here's a unit that will bring out your inner Jacques Cousteau on a budget. Sure, there are usually some sacrifices in anything budget, however, the Marcum VS350 is anything but cheap. It sports one of Sony's top-of-the-line miniature cameras and you realize it when you push the ON button. Sharp, clear images on a 7" screen. Now this beauty doesn't have the scanning camera that comes with the VS460 and VS560, so you need to spin the cable to aim it. BUT - it does come with an adjustable weight that you simply slide forward to make the camera look downward. Slide it backwards and you'll be looking upwards. This is one feature that I wish was available in all the other models that we sell. The weight is the silver thing you see on the bottom of the gray camera.

Superior performance for a great price. Other details and other stuff you need with this type of camera
The Marcum 250 and 350 are stationary cameras just like ALL of the Aqua Vu's, too. That means that the camera only faces one direction and has to be manually truned by grabbing the cable and twisting it around. Doesn't sound hard to do and it's not difficult BUT, your camerable hangs off the edge of the hole. When water is freezing in a drilled hole, where does it freeze the thickest first? Around the edge, of course. When your camera cable gets frozen in and you have to chop or break it out at the end of the day, you may have some problems. Screw up that cable and you'll have a problem that will end up costing you. Here's the solution and it works pretty well. Use the suspension tripod made by Aqua Vu.

Aqua Vu Ice Pod Aqua Vu Ice Pod

This simple doohickey is well worth the investment. There is ONE thing you need to do, however. See that little black knob sitting on top of the ice pod. That's a loose and critical part. It's also small and easy to forget at home or drop down the hole. The little bugger sinks like a stone. It's easy to drop unless you're like me with the steady hands of a surgeon. So, you need to be really careful with it or better still, drill a 3/32" hole thru the edge of it and attach a little yellow foam bobber to it via monofilament. Make sure the bobber will hold it up if you drop it down the hole, too. The other option is to tether it to the tripod, but then it's harder to turn. These are $14.95 and worth every penny! When I go fishing with a camera, I like to drill three holes. One for the camera that is placed so that it can see two holes without having to be moved. Here's a diagram:

Summary - There's no reason to not own one of these. Underwater cameras offer the best of all worlds to guys (and a few women, I'm sure). First, it's a TV without commercials. Second, you're watching TV without commercials in a heated portable shelter on the ice shelter, and third, you are fishing. It just doesn't get any better than that!

This unit has 65 feet of cable. Order Online!
