Lowrance X67 Ice Machine
X 67 Ice Machine - Flasher and a Graph all in one!

This is one complete unit for fishing! Not only does it sport a brilliant full color graph you can push a button and go to a flasher for you guys who can't leave home without it! I've used graphs for winter ice fishing and they DO work well, but the vast majority of graphs are not set up for ice fishing with an ice ducer than suspends in the hole. This X 67 is different. Not only is it a winter machine, you can also get the optional summer transducer with mounting bracket and longer cord so you use it on your boat in both modes as well!

The color is brilliant and responsive so if you go to flasher mode it works extremely well with well defined colors for easy to read separation like you'd find on a Marcum LX 3 TC or the LX 5 unit. Vexilar still does not offer true color, so it combines the red and yellow somehow to end up with a light green that shifts in color. The X 67 just lays down an actual color - no dinking around. But the best is yet to come, as far as I'm concerned.

X 67 Graph
I don't care what you say, but when you are a slow learner like me, the graph is easy to understand. Now, there are a few caveats that I must point out. A graph is designed to take a picture via sonar of the bottom of the lake and everything in between AS YOU ARE MOVING over the surface of the water. You may already be away that while ice fishing, we aren't moving. Instead we are just looking at one "spot" that starts at the hole in the ice and ends up on the bottom. This means that the pickture you'll see on the graph is going to be flat bottom no matter what - and fish will show up not as a little fishy or a boomerang, but instead as a line as it passes through the "water column" that you are viewing. Now with the X 67, your gonna see a blue line which is the fish which will turn into a brighter yellow line as the fish is padding directly beneath you and then it'll go blue again as the fish swims out of your water column. What you do here is crank up your jig (or lower it) to the fish so you are right at its level. If you have the right bait and jigging technique, the fish might bite and you might eat tonight. That's how it works. It's very similar to the flasher but easier to figure out for guys like me.

My Conclusion - If you like to see what's down there, this is going to be one of the greatest toys you've ever owned! The nice part is that you can get the optional summer transducer and use this baby in the summer on your boat! It's so versatile combined with the double bang for your buck and brilliant color screen, it's a no brainer if you are in the market, and I still don't care what anybody says.
