Gapen's Freshwater Shrimp
This freshwater shrimp is a fly/jig which best imitates the natural aquatic crustacean. Its jig like head enables this lure to dart up and down in the natural action of a freshwater shrimp. Has the head made of environmentally safe tin. It is tied in a similar fashion to the world famous Wooly Bugger Fly and hosts a fish enhancing tail of glittery mylar. In larger sizes, natural maribou is added to bulk up the tail and create an enticing pulsation. Like any jig lure you should be retrieved slowly in an irratic motion. in the small sizes, they are effectively worked beneath a bobber or float. The natural tin heads produce a slower more natural fall during presentation. Great Lure! Caught a lot of fish on these!
In winter 2007, the rainbow trout went ape over Freshwater Shrimp in the Ely, MN area. I expect the similar results in 2008 as well! Two sizes available. Mad of tin. Use light line!
