Gapens Ice-N-Ant Size #8 for crappies, bluegills, and big perch
Gapen's "Ice-N-Ant" are all hand-tied in the USA. With a head of tin, this lure is environmentally safe and descends at a slower rate than other lures made with a lead head. Plus, sometimes, having a somewhat fluffy feather jig presentation will bring on the bigger perch, crappies, and bluegills. To work the "Ice-N-Ant" allow lure to descend straight down to desired depth at which you are targeting the fish on your Marcum LX 3 or Vexilar FL 20. Then, retrieve in short 6 inch increments. At each stop twitch several times before the next 6 inch retrieve. You'll be able to see your jig activity as it occurs and you'll be able to see fish as they approach. The more gentle fluttering of this jig is very attractive.
