Are you fishing with glow jigs? You most likely know that the fastest, most effective way to juice 'em up is with a flash. A camera flash for glow jigs is a great way to give that burst over an above the capabilities of even LED's. So for years, everybody I know has purchased cheap camera flashes for carrying around with them while ice fishing. They work great and are fast to recharge as long as you have fresh batteries. But they are square, fat, and kinda cumbersome. And sometimes they don't last too long, either. Then, Bill Lorimer - the Real Weeds guy - puts on his idea cap and makes life a bit better and more effective for ice fishermen and anybody who uses glow jigs. When I saw this, at first I thought it was an ordinary flashlight. Big whoop - another flashlight in the world. Then Bill showed me what it really can do and it was like....the lights went on...(OK, I couldn't help that)!

Talk about COOL! A flash light that actually sends out an instantaneous pulse of light so bright that if you screw around with it in the fish house with your buddies, you may be having a real and significant problem. You'll be seeing spots for 15 minutes just from looking at it indirectly, so screw around I would not if I were you. But, put your jig in your hand and let fly and watch your flash to see the fish come screaming in for a look-see!

The cool part is that you can hang it around your neck on the lanyard (attached string) and it fires up in about two seconds. Push the button on the end, what the green and orange lights, and FIRE! Because it is shaped like a flash light, you won't have that fat camera flash taking up valuable cargo space in your pockets. That leaves more room for glow jigs. Light up enough glow jigs and you won't need a light in the fish house. I tried the store demo Pop-it out on a Shiver Minnow and I think I got a radiation burn. The feeling is finally coming back in my little finger. OK - maybe that's a little exaggeration, but having a FLASH in a flashlight form to make your glow jigs glow is pretty neat.

Comes in a solid aluminum housing, runs on ONE AA battery and even that is included. Just fight with the clam pack plastic for 11 minutes, pull out the Pop-it, unscrew the little end and drop the battery in. Screw back together and pus the button right next to where the lanyard is tied, watch the orange and green light up and push that little button right next to them. ENGAGE! Feels just like you're firing a Photon torpedo. Ok, that too, may be an exaggeration.
